MSc in Systems Design
Master's Degree Program
Systems Design – four paths, one shared goal
Starting in the winter semester of 2027, the Systems Design* master’s program will be even more closely aligned with the technological challenges of the future: students can choose from four specialized study tracks and tailor their studies to their personal interests and career goals.
- Electrical Energy & Mobility Systems
- Embedded & Electronic Systems
- Power Electronic Systems
- Robotic & Mechatronic Systems
All four tracks share a common systems design approach: complex technical systems are not considered in isolation, but are developed, analyzed, and optimized as interconnected elements. At the same time, each track has its own areas of focus, offering different perspectives on the technologies of tomorrow.
Whether you’re interested in intelligent electronic systems, power electronics, energy and electric mobility, or robotics, the four specializations offer a range of ways to deepen your expertise within the Systems Design master’s program.
Four specializations – your choice
Choosing a study track lets you define your individual area of focus. You’ll combine a solid foundation in engineering with specialized coursework, hands-on projects, and current research topics.
Explore the four study tracks and find the focus that matches your interests and career goals.
Find out more about each study track at the ONLINE master’s session on November 23.
Ready to help shape the future of intelligent systems?
In the Systems Design master’s program, deepen your expertise in robotics, electronics, and AI, and develop solutions for the challenges of a connected world.
Special features of the program
Practical learning, immediate application
In the Systems Design master's program, you'll tackle real-world technical challenges through projects, lab exercises, and practice-oriented courses. In the process, you'll combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience.
Thinking Interdisciplinary, Designing Systems Holistically
Successful technical innovations arise from the interplay of electronics, software, sensor technology, data, and artificial intelligence. In the Master’s program in Systems Design, you will learn to integrate these technologies and develop complex systems in a holistic manner.
Experience Research
Research and development are an integral part of the Systems Design master’s program. You’ll tackle current issues in the fields of robotics, electronics, and sustainable mobility, and learn how to translate new technologies into practical system solutions.
A particular highlight is the research internship in the third semester. During this internship, you’ll work directly within a research group or take selected elective modules. This allows you to combine scientific methods with real-world development and research tasks and gain valuable experience for your future career in research or industry.
